In September, the reconnaissance team led by Jean-Marie Lurquin and Charly Gotlib returned to the desert to draw the first FIA roadbooks for the Morocco Desert Challenge. Temperatures were so high that the dunes had to wait a little longer.
In early November, the team will be back for the next phase: an expedition across some of Morocco’s most iconic dune seas. From the majestic Erg Chebbi near Merzouga to the mysterious Erg Ouzina and the rugged Erg Znaïgui – each sand field has its own rhythm and hidden traps. The goal is ambitious: four out of eight stages will feature at least 20–30 km of dunes. A perfect mix of navigation, technique and pure desert emotion.
