The Morocco Desert Challenge 2027 will be known as “The Fury Edition” — a playful nod to the wild, post-apocalyptic energy of Mad Max and a clear promise of another powerful chapter in the history of the rally. From 8 to 17 April 2027, competitors will once again gather in Morocco for eight stages of adventure, endurance and pure desert racing.
For the second time, the rally will start in Ouarzazate, the iconic gateway to the Sahara. After the successful 2026 edition, the organisation carefully reviewed the participant satisfaction survey. One message came through loud and clear: the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a smaller city like Ouarzazate was greatly appreciated by teams, crews and supporters alike.
With strong support from the local authorities and the Governor, the organisation has decided to return to Ouarzazate for both scrutineering and the official start.
Key dates
The 2027 race route is currently being developed. All details will be announced within the next few weeks, but one thing is already certain: thanks to our collaboration with Sébastien Delaunay, the 2027 edition will not reuse previously driven tracks. Instead, it will feature a completely new route and brand-new bivouac locations.
